When booking a holiday, it is important to know
what travel documents are required.
A valid passport is required when travelling outside Canada.
Generally, your passport must have a validity of 180 days beyond your return date.

Entry Requirements have Changed
New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority - NZeTA
Canadian will be required to hold an NZeTA when travelling on a
passport from a visa waiver country or territory, or if you are
an Australian permanent resident.
The International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy - IVL
If you are entering New Zealand you must pay an IVL, which funds tourism infrastructure and helps protect our natural environment. You pay the IVL at the same time as you request your NZeTA.
The cost of the NZeTA and IVL:
- NZD$9 for NZeTA requests via the mobile app
- NZD$12 for NZeTA requests via the website form
- NZD $35.00 for the IVL
- plus agency processing fee
